running while trying to gain weight?

    Me and my friend lift weights hard 5 times a week. He's a fatty trying to lose weight and I'm skinny trying to gain weight. He wants to start running for about an hour 2 days a week on the days we don't lift. I want to be careful about this because I want to gain weight, not lose weight like hes trying to. I know everyone should run, but how much should I be running?

    I run alot and lift wieghts and have gained 15 pounds this month(but it wasnt all fat i gained i think it was mostly muscle or something)(and with what i was eating i wasnt surprised how i gained lol)

    while bulking most people cut cardio by a lot or keep it to LISS only a couple times a week. while cutting cardio should be upped for faster weight loss.

    It is a good idea, although an hour seems liek alot to me. If youa re eating enough, i don;t see it being a problem!

    You and your friend have different goals. Its time that you understand that everything he does, you will not do - and vice versa. Depending on how much weight you want to gain, I would either completely stop running, or cut it to a minimum. If you're trying to go from 130->180 or something drastic like that, I would cut out cardio until the last 10-15 pounds. If you're skinny, theres probably a reason, and there are really only 2 options... you either dont eat much, or you have a ridiculous metabolism.

    Break it down by attributing factor, and make the logical decision.
