I bought a new computer (PC) running vista, it already has a problem. It will run fine for a couple hours and out of no where it will blue screen, do a physical memory dump, and then restart saying that there is an invalid system disc, hit any key and then will start up and run just fine without any problem again. I am clueless as to what the hell happened. I do have an external hard drive hooked up, I don't know if that could have anything to do with it.

Cliffs: Running Vista and my PC will randomly restart. help.

    Thanks

Disable automatic restart on system failure and post up what the blue screen says.

The external hard drive will cause the "invalid system disk" prompt

and it could also be causing the blue screens. Have you scanned the drive for any problems?

  4. ya sometimes usb devices can cause the blue screen, like ur drive.. there usually arent drivers to update for that type of thing though.
