I need to kick up my cardio and want to start running but I need shoe recommendations. My feet are extremely flat and my soles wear like this :

Left Shoe \ / Right Shoe

I believe its called overpronation... Any good running shoes setup for my jacked gait???

If you're an over pronator you need Asic Keyanos. Hands down, best shoe for that.

ugh, you need to go to a running shoe store, preferably where they video your running try fleet feet There are degrees of over pronation and different feet shapes. A proper fitting will make a world of difference. Also you can usually run on the treadmill to get a feel for what you like.

you need a motion control shoe and possibly an orthotic.
i have a very similar gait and ive found a lot of asics run right up my alley. gel kayano, gel 2130s have been my last two pair. pearl izumi makes a nice shoe, but def go get fitted at a running shop

Cool.. thanks everyone. I guess I need to find a specialty store in the Inland Empire and see what they can do.

That and I need to stop wearing flip flops whenever I am in a hurry to go somewhere... My knees always hurt more when I wear them.

Asics FTW. Get yourself a good pair, one of the shiny ones (really). In the 40 bucks range you'll get a better shoe in other brands. In the 70+ range you are getting a great shoe. Try on numerous pairs, as they all fit a little differently. in some styles a 13 is gigantic, in others it might rub your big toe.

I always ordered a 1/2 size up in my Asics to take into account your feet swelling from running so much.

It's like going to Steak and Shake and expecting aged, slow roasted prime rib.

Bought the Kayanos per their recommendation and have no issues with them.

    :bigthumb:

Although I've owned Nike Shox before that and had no problems with those either.

I've used a Brooks and Asics brand shoe with support for over pronation and I liked my Asics better overall. But even if you don't go to a running store, try on one of every brands stability control shoe, brand is less important then how it fits you personally.

I just got fitted with a pair of Brooks. Awesome shoe and worth the price. Went to a place called Run-On here in Big D.

I'm also partial to asics as a brand due to my wrestling background, but their running shoes are awesome

Well today I went into RunningCenters today and bought some shoes. They put me in a nuetral shoe and had me run to see how severe my over-pronation was.

I had a slight over-pronation so he put me in some Asics and had me run again. Said my gait looked good and he began bringing out Stability shoes.

He brought out some Nikes, Mizuno's, Asics, and some Sauconyshoes which I ran in all of them and narrowed it down to Nike and Asic. Then he had me put one of each shoe on and run to see which felt more comfortable. Repeated the process switching sides and it became clear that I felt far more comfortable in the Asic's.

So I purchased a pair of Asic GT-2130's
