i know you can run php via the terminal, unless there is html involved. is there anyway to run the php in safari w/o having to upload the files to a web server? i tried enabling the web sharing in preferences, then load the local files in safar, but all it does is show the text, nothing else.

what is necessary to run a local web server so i can view the php pages?

    thanks.

its not really an older version....entropy has builds designed for easy installation for OS X. they are regarded as a good authority in php for OS X
sorry, i typed the version number wrong. you want 5.1.2 for Apache 1.3
