Currently I m hosting this website (let say the domain name is www.xyz.com) on Win2k server (IIs 5.0) with a static IP and I m thinking to host an additional website (let say again the domain name is www.789.com) with the existing setting. That means I m not buying extra hardware nor applying for another IP.

So is it possible to host mutliple websites on IIs with only one IP??
can someone share their insights on the said subject? Thanks :wavey:

    It is possible. 2 ways:

The web site can only be addressed via the domain name, not the IP address.

    or

Use a different port for the web site.

    Thanks

Apparently the current website (www.xyz.com) I m hosting does not have a host header name, so I assume in its host header field I need to put in www.xyz.com.

Then I have to create a new website entity in IIs for the additional website (www.789.com) i wanted to host and have the host header name called www.789.com.

Did I miss anything? what else do I need to get it running correctly?

that's it... just make sure DNS points both hosts to your IP.
