I've been running for about three years now, and this summer I am expanding my workouts from solid running to running, swimming, and working out. Unfortunately for me, I have no knowledge of any of the muscle groups and I'm going to have to read through some anatomy so that I can figure out what will be best for me to work on for arm carriage and strength.

The reason I'm making this thread is just to ask anyone here who is a runner for some tips on different exercises and what not.

    Thanks :wiggle:

I'm 17 by the way, in case age factors in, which I'm sure it does.

The way that you hold your arms during a run. Your arms can't be all over the place, not efficient.

    Thanks for the link pokpok.

You're looking at about 10k calories a day.

First thing you need to do if you want to put on weight is quit running so much. You need to run maybe 20% of that. Putting on weight means eating more than you're burning, and if you're running 50 miles a week you'll never be in caloric surplus.

After you commit to doing that (it can be hard), then you can come back here and the rest of the internet and find more specific things to do.

So basically what the consensus is that I won't be able to put on weight?

I'm not looking to weigh over like 155, because of running.

I put on ten pounds in my legs in a couple months when I started eating weight gainer and protein shakes, if I increase my calorie intake I should be able to put on some upper right?

    right?! :(

just train your upper body, your lower body is probably overdeveloped from all that running

If you are running 50mi/week it would seem you've been a runner/training to be one for quite some time.

Maybe should consider this could just be a "grass is greener" thing.
Sure my arms are going to be bigger than yours, but im never going to run 50mi/week. Unless weeks get converted to 10 days :p

I calculated it all out and it came to like 4500

7k would be hard as fuck to eat everyday, I need to buy some more weight gainer powder
