I would like to buy some running shoes.

    Suggested brands? New Balance?

Anything in particular I need to keep in mind when selecting shoes?

    Thanks.

Go to a proper runners shoe store and they will custom fit you for free.

I really don't know a lot about shoes. They can help you more than I can.

NB works best for me. :dunno: Some people can run in Nike. I can't. The support just isn't enough for me.

I was leaning towards some new balances

  7. Don't pick a shoe based off how it looks or what company it is. Most real running shoe stores will have shoes divided up on the wall based on how much support they have and where the support is. Are you flat footed at all? Big arch? Small arch? I got some Asics (not sure of model...but lots of support) and they work perfect for me...no more knee/foot pain really.

Go to a running shoe store, not like a general sporting goods store and have someone that looks not retarded (maybe a manager?) help you find a shoe for you. Most will have you either step onto a machine which looks at the shape of your foot or watch you walk/run.

yep, mostly all the brands are comparable to one another. it comes down to what fits you best. they all last pretty much as long as the next brand. Some brands work better for people with narrow feet, etc

i am just going to mention asics and saucony. dont forget about considering them

these shoes are so fucking light and feel like I am floating on air. Made me realize how much my doc marten boots were hurting my feet/legs/knees.

got them for $60 bucks from academy too I consider it a steal.
