So I've been getting back into running recently and last night while running on an over grown trail I stumbled across a little grow operation  Thankfully it was only some stupid kids.

I would like something that won't chafe and is comfortable for 10+ miles or so of running. The Survival Sheath doesn't have an option for the PF-9 unfortunately and that is the only holster I've seen that looks like it may work while running.

Any suggestions? :hs: I have a feeling there aren't a lot of options out there for me.

  2. Is the pistol retained simply by the clip? If so, that doesn't look like it would work too well for running.

You could always run with the gun in your hand. :dunno:

Really though, would a fanny pack style holster work?

A gun in my hand may work on some of the trails I run on but I run in town in the mornings and and I'd prefer not to look like a fleeing bank robber.

I have a small camelback that I can fit a gun in, it's just not very accessible, better than nothing though.

If the PF-9 isn't listed, email Robert. He may just not have updated the site. You can also send him the weapon to use as a holster form..with all the legalities of that.

Otherwise, the only other chest holster I know of is leather, and primarily for revolvers.

edit: retention is completely irrespective of the clip. Tension is applied to what feels like the entire weapon. Requires a conscious jerk to draw the weapon. Also, it will chafe the first few outings, until your skin gets used to it, and you find the right adjustment to the straps. I'm sure moleskin would help, I just like doing things the hard way.

I've worn one of those Survival Sheath holsters for my P32 a couple days. I'm not a fan of the muzzle location it puts it at, but it does have solid retention. What about a water bottle/fanny pack? I know they're super gay, but do what you have to do.

I rotate it over my right thigh (think 1 o'clock). And it works fine. If you try to wear it as intended, yes, its going to bounce off your nuts. I've gone out with everything from the Kel-tec to my G26 with a spare G17 mag in the opposite pouch and its no problem.

Edit: No offense buhroo...I don't want to start anything. I just remembered the thread awhile back, wanted to link it, then saw your reply and couldn't resist. The ironing was too strong.
