Nothing revolutionary but this is the first time I've seen it concluded from a study.

    Cliffs:
    1. There's more impact when you strike heel-first, but it hasn't been shown to be any harder on your body.
    2. Landing toe-first uses more foot/calf muscle.
    3. Kenyans run fast.

No - but I've never seen something like this posted around here, and I've been wondering about it for years

I recently changed to running on toes/balls of feet and it makes my knees hurt a LOT less, and I have had DOMS in my calves from it.

I'm wit it and all but they didn't have some mexican throw his 40 bottle in the middle of the fucking street with glass everywhere back in the caveman days.

The only time I run barefoot is at my Asian ex-girls house when I'm drunk at 3am trying to get some pussy because she makes me take my shoes off.

Bad posture is more than a problem in today's society. Even if you think you have a good posture chances are you have tons of imbalances with from a good amount of adhesion and inelastic soft tissue from Davis's Law.

    This.

I also get it bad in my ankles and throughout the foot. Goes away after the first week or so back running. It truly does feel great running that way, though.

I run on a 2% incline now, it helps me land on my toes first. If you have shinsplints try this.

Anyone here actually do barefoot running? How do you deal with really long runs (10+ miles) and rocks/dirty feet?

    :wiggle:

The longest run I've done barefoot (no vibram's) was about 3 miles and afterwards the bottom of my feet were pretty busted up. Main reason why i picked up a pair of vibrams.

I have my Vibram KSOs but have yet to use them. How did you break into them? Start walking in them, then eventually running?

Get shoes with minimal support (a la sambas) and run in those. I hate walking around in cushioned shoes it feels fucking weird. Berks>x

Sorry, I don't understand what you are asking, but if you are seeking permission to pleasure me orally, you are welcome to.

When I ran a lot (7 miles 5 times a week) I wore sambas and the first frees. I was astonished at my increased ankle flexibility after 4 months. After wearing berks for most of the year for the past couple o years my ankle flexibility has gotten a lot better.

When squatting 4 years ago I needed a raised heel (like an oly shoe) to hit proper depth (ATG), but these days I can go ATG with my sambas on.

I was asking if sambas are the name of the shoe. I still have a pair of Nike Frees. Haven't used them much for running. Link to sambas?

Sambas aren't a "barefoot" shoe like the Vibrams or Feelmax

I just started running them, keeping the millage low, around 2-4 miles and eventually got up to 8-10 miles.

But they offer minimal support and heel profile.
