if you can't do it from the registry, then don't do it from msconfig. msconfig misses stuff, anyway.

and the idea is to REMOVE stuff from startup -- not add it.

i have almost everything removed. i wanted to know it i can put some other programs in there so i dont have to start them myself everytime i boot up.

Speaking of booting up, depending on the specs of your pc, how can you determine how long you can leave the comp running? Do macs run longer than windows pcs?

    wtf are you talking about?

What exactly are you asking? Are you implying that a mac inherintly can be turned on longer? I really just don't know what to make of this.

I go at least a month without shutting down my inventory machines (win2kpro). My windows servers can go over a year without rebooting (I wouldn't reboot except for the occasional update that requires it)

The easiest way to start a program on boot-up is to simply drag and drop a shortcut to the programs->startup folder.
