that is all.
nice! i can't fucking wait to upgrade the shitty 256 mb i have in my G4 iBook. one gig will be so nice for me. i'll finally be able to run safari, itunes, adium, azureus, and limewire at once!
my 1.42 G4 mini with 1gb ran faster than this 1.83 core duo mini with 512mb ram.
but i <3 2giga ram.
word. ram makes all the difference. i have a 1.83 G4 and it's alright, but it will haul for what i do when i finally can afford to put in more ram. i'm not a baller like the rest of OT.
which widget is that for cpu processes and such, i use menu meters but that looks very helpful.
iStat pro you can get it on apple.com
ill check it out
im pretty fond of menu meters
sits up in the top bar all the time
anyone seen any good deals lately?
I my macbook
Did your Macbook originally came with 2G RAM? If so, how much of a difference do you notice? I do plan on upgrading to 2gigs, but not sure exactly if I need it at the moment.
i donno about the mac book, but 2giga really let my mini breathe.
I'm in the same boat, I would love to get 2GB, but the price of 1GB is even high... I'm thinking it will be enough though...
really can't tell you, first mac ever and ordered it with 2gb so I have no idea how much of a difference it makes. but it's running great though
1giga should make a pretty good difference if you like to multi-task at all. before when i had 512, it would sit at ~400 mb ram being used... pretty much maxed out, and things would run SLOW. even if i put 1gb in it would have helped out a lot, now with 2giga, doing normal things like ,azureus, adium, firefox, iTunes at the same time my used ram hovers in the 700 mb used area.
so 1giga should do the trick.
