..........anybody ever shot one? I want to pick up a .44 for a hunting sidearm instead of the XD. I want something small, but also controlable. How is the recoil on one of these with only having a 2.5" barrel? I would probably get it Magna-ported regardless of what .44 I get anyways.

ONly .44 ive shot is a Model 12 Smith and WEsson. It kicked pretty good with a 6.5in barrel, but not as much as i thought.

Now a 2.5in barrel wouuld be a bit hard to handle in my opinion, but in the heat of hte molment when you need a sidearm out there, it may not be that bad.

At least its not a .480ruger outtta that thing. those gotta kick like the bear they are supposed to take down.

.....and thats what I was thinking, when your adrenaline is pumping, I really don't think it would ba all that bad. I just don't want to lug around a big ol 6-7" .44

the other problem is getting some practice time at the range

Thats when you have no adrenaline, and that some bitch will wear on you after a bit of time.

for my money, id lug around a 6in, or get a 2.5in .357. Still kicks hard, and hits hard, but a little more bearable.
