After that joke of a rifle (the SR-22), it looks like Ruger has figured out what people actually want in a 10/22. Hogue OM stock, upgraded 2-stage trigger, hammer forged 16" barrel, extended mag release, and bipod....

I can't find any for sale yet so it's hard to determine price. The MSRP is $555, but the SR22 MSRP is $625 and it sells for $470. Hopefully that means this one will be just under $400.

  2. Not a bad deal if it's a good shooter.

Not bad. Aren't all their barrels hammer forged?

Is it still a (slightly modified) sporter chamber or did Ruger finally make one with a proper Bentz chamber?

That would be my new squirrel slayer if the price and total weight was right.

Dad has a ruger that looks similar to that but a wood stock. Has that real heavy barrel like that one. It's a nice gun.

Everybody seems to like it, so it's probably not legal in Cal.

Agreed. Wonder if it's the same tube as the target model? Can't know by that picture.....

Still gonna be kinda front heavy with the Hogue, but it's definitely a (large) step in the right direction.

NFA is still illegal. I'm talking about the CA assault weapon law (SB-23).

I'm gonna send emails to Cal .gov people and tell them how 22lr is dangerous because it can enter the body but not exit so it bounces around inside destroying everything.

don't think so. If you look at the 'features' page or wherever they have more details, it's actually a spiral fluted barrel :noes:

If it was threaded they would have a near perfect .22 rifle on their hands. As it is, they still did a damn good job

Is it just me... or couldn't you build the same thing for around $350?
Edit: basing my comment on the suggested retail price
