walmart has em for 178. fair price? should i shop around some more?
that's a reasonable price. many online price quotes sit around $180-190 for a standard model.
Yea, that's a decent price.
i guess i'll get it then.
going to pick up a synthetic stock and some highcap mags
Definitely one of the funner guns I've owned. Cheap ammo and highly customizable. Mine has a laser sight and a scope more suited to a higher powered rifle. I can aim further than I can shoot. I'm still looking for high capacity magazine (40 rd.) for it. When I find a couple I'll get a folding stock, flash suppressor (purely ornamental), sling, and a folding bi-pod for it.
That's a fair price.
stainless or blued?
rimfirecentral.com they know their shit
shouldnt be too hard to find, i just picked up a P22 couple days back and the gun shop(the gun broker 503-657-7203) had an entire wall of the those mags. Might call and see if theyll ship to you, or at least tell you the brand
Spend the extra few bucks and get the stainless; you'll thank me later.
personally i would watch out from walmart. a sporting goods store i used to work at had a rep tell us when wal-mart makes large gun purchases with ruger that they have parts swapped out with lesser quality ones to get the price lowered.
i have never taken a wal-mart purchases 10/22 apart so i do not know if this is false or not but just something to watch out for.
edit-damn the price of these sure have gone up in the past few years. wal-marts around here had them regularly priced at $149.99 and we ran ours at 154.99
that's just an urban legend. wal-mart negotiates a deal with the gun manufacturer instead of dealing with a wholesale distributor, and buys in bulk, thus lessening the cost 2-fold.
i understand the fact about them buying in bulk. this was just information told to us from a ruger rep. out on a duck hunting trip.
