So Ive had my Sig handgun for a good month now, I love shooting it, and I like introducing my friends to shooting, but the ammo is getting pretty expensive when I bring them, and Id rather shoot the handgun on my own time by myself to practice on my shooting.

Now I want to get a Ruger 10/22 rifle, because ammo is cheap and me and my friends will be able to do some plinking and the cost is little to nothing.

Now I was wondering where should I look to get one along with a scope addon, and how much should I be looking at?

You could start at Sportsman's Warehouse. There's a number of them. My friend works at the one on like, Dysart, or near there.

i got my 10/22 for $213 after DROS and tax. a decent scope could cost you about the same, depending on what you want.

general rule of thumb is dont spend more on the scope than the gun :wavey:

If you want a stock 10/22 (you dont)....itll be about $250 all said and done. A scope and set of rings for that can run from $50 to $$$$$$$. You will be fine with a $100 scope. I have a $50 scope and love it.

why wouldnt you want a stock 10/22? all i plan to do to mine is get better irons (peep sights) and it will most likely be one of the most accurate guns i own for a long time

Bi-mart has 10/22s for $160 most of the time here. I have a decent $40 scope and already had a set of rings so my total was $200. Plus $8 for a 525 round box of ammo :)

Because with a few bucks it can have a much smoother and lighter trigger pull. With a few more bucks, you can get a much better barrel and stock. And if you catch the modding bug, the aftermarket is so huge that you can really customize yours to look and feel the way you want it. Or some prefer a stock one, like yourself. :big grin:

:coold: yeah i thought about getting a better trigger, but then i know it'll lead to a new stock, new barrel, etc :noes: then i wont stop

in retrospect, it wont be a bad thing :)

This stock 10/22 + cheapish scope = less than $300, including the case and sling
