OK, so I'd like to register my 10/22 as a handgun to put a pistol style stock (custom build) and a 5 inch barrel on it.

Can this be done simply through and FFL form or do I have to go through the ATF and do the AOW/SBR thingy and pay the extra $200?

    Thoughts, ideas.........answers?

Why don't you just get a Ruger Mk III or something?

no, you can't register a rifle as a handgun. magnum research and hornet products makes 10/22 receivers that are made as handgun receivers.

DS is right you can't reg a 10/22 bought at wallyworld as a pistol, the reciever has to originally been pistol on paper. You could SBR it. If you want some wierd goofy ass 22 pistol get a calico or tec22.
