I'm looking at my brand new CMMG barrel. Even though on their website it says chrome plated, it's not. It's some new plating they are doing. They are claiming, it's better than chrome... :ugh:.

I wasnt aware of this, until my barrel arrived. I hate being a guinea pig though. :hs:

Do you plan on using it with any defensive ammo? If so 1/7 twist is the better choice.

I'd buy the stag then and put the extra $50-100 to like 15 rounds of ammo or whatever that buys today

Why what's your reasoning other than brand name? Is it because OT and ARFCOM say so? You're fucking punching paper.

Could be HVOF...if it is, they're right, it is better than chrome. It's harder and has a higher wear/friction resistance. We use it where I work and we ran a head-to-head test of chrome vs. HVOF and the chrome piece failed after 1M cycles whereas we had to pull the HVOF piece after 3M and it was still going strong.

I'd just go with the stag, use the $100 you save for mags or ammo.

Dot know what HVOF is. They are calling it WASP.

The more I look at it, it could be chrome, but the chamber sure doesnt look like it. The muzzle end, at the crown. It looks to have chromish color on it. But in the chamber, it's all black. None of the usual chrome ring or inside the chamber. :dunno::confused:

The prices listed in the first post probably all include a BCG, the LMT would not.
