Which one would you buy as the follow up to an HK USP 9mm (compact)?

Purpose: Home defense and target practice

Do you have any other rifles? If you just have the 9mm I'de opt for the AR.

i'd have more fun at the range any day of the week with an AR-15 than i would with most handguns.

If you don't already have a rifle, I'd definitely get the AR.
Especially since you already have a USP chambered in a different round.

Then get a shotgun. After than you can think about a second USP, but get some longarms to go with your pistol.

As much as I love my USP .45 full size I'd go with the AR15.

Get the AR. Mike is the first person I've ever heard have a problem with RRA's ARs.

    User error. :mamoru:

No but really, I've never heard of RRA's not being reliable, even in 9mm. Thats why I bought one.

If you don't already have an AR-15, then absolutely most definitely get the RRA.

My father just picked up a Rock River AR-15 over the weekend. Fantastic rifle, its made me reconsider my position on ARs. However, if the purpose is home defense, I would choose the USP.

I hate to say it, but I'd go with the rifle before getting another handgun. Once you have at least one rifle, and one shotgun, you can go nuts with everything else :)

For home defense? I strongly disagree with you. Small caliber/high speed centerfire rifles have their place. Defending yourself across the room or down the hall is not it.

when some indoor shooting ranges don't allow centerfire rifles, you know you should reconsider using it as a bedside gun :o
