all of a sudden, i can't remote connect to one of our servers (running win server 2003). i get an error saying "the system cannot log you on due to the following error: The RPC server is unavailable".

when i check the event logs on the server, for each instance i tried to remote connect, it shows the error being "Unable to obtain Terminal Server User Configuration. Error: The RPC server is unavailable".

things i've done so far from the server...
    1) ran net start rpcss in cmd (already started).
    2) checked services and all the remote access/connection/procedure are running. TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper is also running.
    3) ran gpupdate in cmd.
    4) checked to see if Client for Microsoft Networks is installed and yes it is.

anything else i should try? have been racking my brain trying to figure out what the hell is going on... thanks.
