Damn, Royce is old. Why come back now and potentially get whooped.

I am still not convinced that Gracie will get beat. I look at it like the theory that your big brother is always tougher then you because he "CAN'T" lose. Mentally a big brother normally can't lose because they won't let themselves. That is the way I see it... He will train hard, his family will train him like a maniac and it will be his "last" fight ever. He will go out in style. He wouldn't take the fight if he didn't know he could win. I see Hughes as a young Severn.

My instructor (under relson) said that Royce hasn't kept his game up to par with the rest of the MMA world, really, and that he will probably get beat, although there is always a chance of hughes fucking up and getting caught.

Hughes is just a much, much more well rounded fighter, plus add in to that he's a workhorse, constantly fighting the toughest in his division.

  11. I hope Royce will actually do some training as opposed to just teaching. When he lost to Wallid Ismael a few years ago they said that his BJJ belonged in a museam.

He went to a draw with a guy 20lbs lighter on NYE. I hope he's still got something left.

Wasn't that fight sanctioned by K-1 were grappling is not allowed?

Is everyone forgetting that Randy Couture is 2 years older than Royce and still fighting?

And has constantly been fighting at the top of the food chain.

The last real opponent Royce beat was Dan Severn... in 1994.

Doesn't negate the fact that he's not too old to still be fighting.

I agree, He's not too old to be competitive either. It's his training that's lacking.

Yoshida's no slouch. Even if it's considered a draw.
