It made me really dislike Royce when he started to pull Kimo's hair so he couldn't get out of the gaurd. :ugh:

Plus him and the other Gracies display the most unsportman like conduct after each win. :ugh:

I hope Matt Hughes beats his fucking face in. :o

oh yeah, and there were times where the dude was tapping, but Royce just kept holding on and pulling on the sub making it worse.

    :ugh:

I only caught a few minutes of that but the tivo got it so I will re-watch it this weekend.
I am relatively new to watching UFC so I don't know all the history of both of them but do you think Hughes has a good chance?

I hope he does win, just the few times I have heard (read) about it, it seems Gracie has been talked about more.
The downside is that comcast doesn't seem to carry these UFC PPV's. Anyone know if they never have or they only carry some of them?

I respect Royce, but I have a pretty good amount of money on Hughes.

    Yeah I watched that tonight.

He does seem like a dirty fighter but you have to realize, there were hardly ANY rules back then and other guys fought the same way :dunno:

That being said, Hughes is gonna fuck him up :coold:

    Then lose to GSP :o

  10. He always does that to show how ruthless he is :mamoru:

he wasnt cranking subs to prove a point guys.. when he fought ken the first time he tapped him out.. and the ref didnt see it, and ken was seeming like he was going to pretend it didnt happen. so after that royce held on the subs until the ref pulled him off

:werd: Watching those fights did bring back all those feelings of dislike for Royce. Back in the early 90s I had no idea what JJ was. I wanted to see someone beat that skinny fuck. :mamoru: Especially after seeing him hold that choke on the Dutchman, I thought Royce was just a brute. Little did I realize, at the time, that the Refs really didn't do a great job of catching everything.

I think Royce is a little too old to compete against a Champ. He could probably do well against some of the greener competitors, but I don't think he can take Matt.

see how royce does now with no hair pulling, elbows to head, no gi (sp?) etc etc. Hughes is a beast no two ways about it

actually i dont think royce is even that old. maybe in his early to mid thirties. he just started fighting and winning really early so he seems ancient

Royce is a legend, I hope he wipes that smirk off Hughes face.

BTW - Under UFC rules its gonna be tough for Royce to pull out a win, Im hoping Hughes comes to fight and doesnt just try to get a boring GNP win.

I hope royce wins......I don't think hughes could go up against someone 74 pounds more than him......Royce was dominant......the bad thing is they changed rules because of him and his dominance......it would be nice to have headbutts back and heel kicks to the kidneys......they sure were effective.....Hughes is super cocky and I hope he gets submitted.......
