Remind me to never fight someone that outweighs me by 60 lbs.
who needs to fight with a gi when you can just grab his love handles?
do you train gi, or no gi..
I couldn't even get him in full guard because his waist was so big when he postured up. My legs couldn't lock without a lot of effort.
I'm stronger, so I'm sure I could've thrown him over, but that's discouraged in class...
We don't have gis
and my invitation still stands, i could prob drive out where you are if it isnt too far. my schedule is pretty relaxed these days
whats discouraged, using a lot of power?
submission by smothering
Yeah, I'm capable of throwing most of them around and powering them into whatever position. But I have to do it really fast...it makes the whole process look very violent, and I get yelled at for it.
holy crap, id love to roll with you
I'm horrible...I really am. I'm just learning...but I'd love to have you help me learn.
You'd beat my ass!
cus its different when someone uses all power. im used to people using techniques, and i have a sense what theyre going to do. rolling with someone really unpredictable is interesting
hah intellex rolls like a real man =P
For me, when I have someone who is so huge that my guard can't close on them, I use rubber guard.
It seriously was. I tapped every time And the guy was pretty new too
and youd prob give me a hard time, youre a big dude
One of the guys, about 160 was pulling me into an armbar while I was on my knees facing down. I postured up picking him up with me and pivoted the opposite direction bringing him under me and me at nearly a side guard. coach was pissed. Guy got the wind knocked out of him....
The kid I accidently slammed asked me how much I weighed.
Him: Crap I was thinking at least 210
this sounds cool. i want to train with you once
Wait until I become a bit more confident in what I'm doing?
I seriously don't know.
During one roll I ended up on top in guard and I didn't know what to do after that. I just sat there
Just a variation of the guard where you reach over their back and grab your own leg with your arms to break down their posture. Its good because you don't have to have the guard locked and they have to be careful or they will get caught in the oma plata/triangle/armbar
alright man, just lemme know
rubber guard is overated
