H4y d00ds, nikon-boy's back with pics. Only two, same basic idea, it was what I was going for this time because the liftoff just isn't that dramatic. This was at the TARC 2005 nationals, which I didn't do very good at, but my photo skills rocked socks (even while I was sick) so critique damnit.

to be honest, those pics aren't that special. the second one would look better if you had the whole rocket in it, it looks awkwardly cut off. the detail in the exhaust/stage detachment is quite nice, but that's about it :)

I was just glad I got the shots at all (the booster takes soemthing like 1/100th of a second to get away from teh rocket too far to be shot well. <3 the panning comments, but those two were the best of about 40 that I tried to follow. Some worked great, some totally outran my ass ><

The propellant = estes motors, usually, some people used the aerotech ones that I really couldn't follow. 80 ns impulse > me.

You need a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens like the one I have for sale.

I REALLY considered it, but I would then need the beautiful wonders of VR, since I don't have MLU on the stupid d70 ><

yes THEY LOOK GRAINY! Because they were underexposed due to the uberbright day (and the fact that I told it to get me something like 1/2000 shutter speed) so I PS'd it with levels and that happened :(

    :hsugh:

Vibration reduction has nothing to do with mirror lock up, which is generally not needed and for the D70 specifically, it doesn't really need such a function because of the light mirror/shutter action that inherently has less vibration than a camera like the... 20D.

The MLU is for exposures with a telephoto between 1/15 and 1 second, and the VR should reduce some of the vibrations to help cancel it out. I KNOW that vr isn't the same as MLU, dumbasses.

And it doesn't change the fact that I don't want to buy your lens :p
