Hey all. Currently in a bulking phase (about 4-5 months in, now?), and jeebus, I am tired of this bloat. I'm eating slightly above maintenance, mostly "clean" (I wash them first) foods and such, and pretty much the only thing I'm supplementing with besides vitamins and minerals is creatine mono. Yes, I'm drinking more than a gallon of water a day, no, my kidneys and my pussy don't hurt.

I've seen all my muscles/lifts improve, so I'm happy with the end result, but I sure am sad about this soft look around my stomach.

I'm about finished with the huge tub of creatine mono I've got, and I'm trying to decide if I should just give it up for a bit (I don't care about muscle "size" with it, I just like the recovery part), or switch to CEE. I know some people report less/no bloat with Creatine CEE, and then people usually respond to *them* saying "I don't bloat, you're weird."

Anyhoo - how many of you are currently bloating, er, I mean, bulking? Does CEE really help with that?

Feel free to post here with your experiences, or to just call me a pussy.

When you say "cut them out", what range are we talking about here?

As far as carbs go for me, this is a general idea of where I'm at daily:

9am: 8oz 2% milk (with my morning shake), 1/4-1/2 cup oats mixed in.
11am: 2 slices whole grain bread (with my sammich), 8oz 2% milk
1pm: 1 cup brown rice, 1 cup mixed green veggies
3pm: 5-6 triscuits (with my tuna)
6:30pm - post workout shake - (has creatine mixed with simple sugars for uptake)
    8:00pm - 1 cup green veggies

This is, of course, an approximation only, and does not include my delicious fats and protein. I'm just trying to determine if I need to cut back on creatine mono/carbs/milk or if I just need to start doing DDR/curl workouts to "tone".

And yeah, I don't care about bloat during the winter, and I even plan on bulking through a good portion of the summer, I'd just rather not be *too* bloated when I go to Mexico in May. Whee!

I've seen the latter bloat pic before - and by no means am I a powerlifter. As I said, I'm comfortable with a bit, but I feel as of late that it's gotten worse than usual, so just looking to tweak things a bit if possible.

I've definitely got the rounded face to go with the rounded stomach. Sadly, I carry all my fat/water weight in those two spots mainly - every where else doesn't look like I'm too bloated at all.

PS - Maine - you look a lot tougher since you went black. Is it true you'll never go back?

So what do you guys think? Dial back the carbs a bit? Diuretics? NOXPLODE?!?

    *sigh*

    I hate the bloat, too.

To make matters worse, before my workout tonight, I had one of the "personal trainers" at Bally's (I know) "test my bodyfat".

This consisted of me holding what amounted to a Nintendo controller so they could test with electrical impedance. Assholes. This will probably be a whole other thread in the next few days so I can get some educated opinions. He told me I was '18.9%' and that was 'very good'.

    Douche sluice.

Same here.. ever since going low carb, I really don't experience bloat anymore.. Between extremely low carb and lower sodium (i.e. cut out all the jerky :hs: ), I feel completely better.
