i've been eyeing their ar-15's, but i'm trying to make sure that wahtever ar i go with is not a carbon fiber one. I've seen a good amount of bushmaster's with carbon fiber lowers and i'm trying to avoid them. Does anyone know if RRA's are carbon fiber or steel? What about Armalite? I couldn't find an answer on their sites.

I dont think armalite or RRA makes a carbonfiber AR.. I think the bushy carbon15 is the only carbon fiber one they have.. sure is lighter, but I wouldnt trust it.

RRA makes a good gun, DEA has a contract with them on their government model (except theirs is select-fire obviously)

i don't think the carbon 15 is carbon fiber. they're more of a composite/epoxy material.

all rock river arms and armalite lowers are forged steel, IIRC.

RRA only makes their forged aluminum lowers to mil specs, you won't end up with a CF lower if its made by RRA. Same with Armalite.

Bushmaster is currently making the Carbon 15 which was previously made by Professional Ordnance. Those and the polymer Cavalry Arms lowers are the only "plastic" ARs you're likely to come across.

ok, that helps. I'm not interested in composite rifles. I don't mind the composite on certain pistols, but i prefer all metal for rifles.
