I have a bunch of RMVB movie files.

What can I use to convert to MPG?

I search on google....is RMVB some type of Real Media?

If so then this isn't going to be easy.

Realmedia to AVI is easy enough, but the program I have in mind is stable and I believe you have to have a version of RealPlayer installed for it to work

You'll need TINRa 0.3 or 0.5 (the 0.5 is better) but it's a DOS program so also get the TINRaGUI 1.4 that works with 0.5 to make life easier

There are other programs, but this one is free most of the others are shareware.

I wonder how the quality is? I want to burn these to VCD.. I wonder if I should just not worry about it.

Well if you use TINRa, then it depends on which codec you choose and how good the quality is of the RM is to start with.

Mostly these days I just use TINRa on RM files I come across because it takes too long for RealPlayer to start up and start playing the video and then controling it is pure hell. Luckily I don't come across many RM files any more.
