There's one next to my wife's nail salon here in houston. Every time I go there with her, I stroll in and look at stuff. Occasionally I get an itch and actuallt want to buy something from them. EVERY time I ask, they never have anything in stock.

Last time, it was a cf card bigger than 2gb, time before that was anything lens wise worth a crap for the nikon. This time, it was a simple remote. Nothing.

How are they still in business? Do they make the general public think they're pros at this shit? They're worthless IMO and they want a ton of money just to print stuff. I don't get it. :dunno:

I thought it was pretty funny that they didn't have a gray card in stock. I was thinking wtf/?

But what sucks is they're right around the corner from my house, and sometimes I just gotta bite the bullet and pay full price :o.

They're a joke. Only time I go in to the one by be is for quick prints and paper when I was taking a film class.

Ritz has stores of different levels. Some are top end stores that will carry a lot of stuff including pro gear, others will be very small and only have a few of the basics and geared more toward printing and P&S stuff. It depends on location and need. Most regions will have at least one pro store, but that still might be 50 miles or so from your location or farther depending on the need for the area.

They serve the need of 90% of the people that take snapshots and dont lose money by not having to deal with those looking for pro gear.

The ritz thats by my wife's store is pretty small. There's a wolf camera around the corner thats a little bigger, but not by much. Another wolf right by my house which is bigger than both, and they have more... but still don't have half the stuff I'm looking for anytime I go there. :dunno:

I just think its more of a mainstream place where people 'think' pros go to rather than serving the semi and regular pros when they need local help.

There's a wolf camera somewhat close to me here, and the only time I go is to "try" a lens to see if I want it. I just bring my camera in and test the lens. Never bought anything from them.

I went into a Wolf Camera store tonight, and I didn't get any service - no one spoke to me. Some Indian dude with a Starbucks cup comes in, and the sales dude perks up for him...I walked right out of that damn store...I was looking for the Sigma 30 1.4 I guess I'll buy elsewhere...they were all douche bags. :madfawk:

I've bought 1 lens at the store... 50mm f/1.4 was the impulse buy before I knew about adorama and B&H. And the 70-200 VR from their online store because they were the only ones that had it in stock. Paid full retail for both. :hs:
