i wish i had the money right now. with the weaker US dollar you can get a sweet deal by crossing the border

are you getting it shipped to canada tho? duty could kill your deal. and make sure your warranty card is for canada and the US, or you may have trouble should you need to use it. good luck with the camera :bigthumb:

ritz has one of those borderfree deals setup with canada post. i have a final price in canadian dollars that i pay, and it includes all shipping and duty fees.

i can get the camera, two lenses and a bag for $1863.18 shipped on the fastest option (2-4 business days). if i buy the camera body only here in ontario, i pay $1725 after tax, or the body and the 18-55mm lens is $1840.

i'm just worried about trying to use my warranty in canada :ugh:

can you get me a deal with the 10d when i get it :o

those sigma lenses are good ones to start with, but just as other photographers would reccomend, get a 50mm 1.8. its cheap and its a great lens.

    ritz should be good

cameraworld has gone to shit :rant2:

well, i was thinking of buying from tigerdirect, but evertime i've been there, everything they sell is like refurbed.... and by the time i include the lenses from ritz, it's a better deal....

however, i haven't bought it yet. when i made the original post, it came out to $1863 after taxes and shipping... last night when i went to buy it, it was down to $1855 because the dollar has gotten stronger.... i know this sounds cheap of me, but i'm gonna follow it for a week or so and see if i can get it for under $1800 :big grin:

I'm still looking at getting a film SLR, such as the Nikon N80. Can your friend get a good price on those?

the man's made his choice - and by all accounts it's a pretty good camera.

God, I wish I had enough for the 10D or the 1Ds :wtc:

There's a $50 rebate on them right now, so a used one would have to be in excellent shape and very cheap to be worth buying.
