Ritz is either restructuring or on the way out http://tinyurl.com/bmasba . Nice people work there, but their prices are too high.

    Yes, they are horrible

But they aren't so horrible when you're desperate, and have a store walking distance from your house.

Store is horrible. Not surprised one bit, the Ritz on my street actually closed a few weeks ago.

There was a story on the news about liquidation sales and how they really work. They jack the price and then put a markdown tag on it. When Circuit City planned to only close some stores, a TV crew checked prices and the open stores were selling for less than the closeout sale. Now I don't trust any of that stuff.

Ritz is a great place for people who don't know how to shop around. Their prices are reasonable enough if you don't know about eBay, Spoofee or other sites. They had a great special on prints for a nickel Tues-Wed until it turned out to be only for 3x5.

They were my prime source when I shot 35mm. I got sick of them because their 1-hour would turn into a day or two after major events. They blamed delays on 4th of July, the Air and Water Show (I live in Chicago), Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. I figured Pulaski Day was next and I put them in the wind.

I actually found them to have the best deal on my D90 when I bought it, got it for 1079 with tax and all.

Sucks to hear but I've always considered them overpriced (except for the deal I got)

Only time I use them is to pick up some film and get some quick prints done.
