Hey guys. I'm wondering if and how to Rip DVDs onto my hard drive so I can watch them off my hard drive without the actual dvd disc.

    Assuming you mean non-encrypted DVDs...

    1) find a ripper program (nero recode, for example)
    2) Rip the DVD to ISO
    3) Mount the ISO image to a virtual DVD drive (google "daemon tools")

Also, for more software and info on how to rip (since most can't be mentioned on here) google "afterdawn". They are the source for everything DVD/CD-R

AfterDawn or Doom9 are the resources I use. DVD Decrypter will allow you to RIP to ISO as well.

Or you can just rip the files and watch them with VLC Player.

Otherwise know as Nero Recode, but old.
