    good combo or no?

rippetoe type / 5x5 workout type of stuff with barbell complex every other day.

goal is to get strength back up and lose fat at the same time. minimal weight equipment available (squat stands, bench, weights) which is why i'm going back to the rippetoe, which basically only has 5 exercises in it:
bench, squat, deads, powercleans / yates rows, standing military

dips and pullups are done on the squat stands also.

ideas/suggestions? no, purevl's sticky wont work for me since i dont have enough equipment. :hsd:

am renewing my rec center membership, which is only $60 a YEAR WOOOO but i dont have time to go there much. i play single dad during the week.

i MIGHT have time go after work for 30-45 minutes but that doesnt include changing into workout clothes.

how did it work for you?

i did the rippetoe a year or so ago and it worked really well but i didnt do much of anything else along with it. i stopped when i started surfing because it was fucking with my ability to learn to surf. now i dont have time to surf, only really have time to do whatever i can while at home.

    lucky you

i can go to the rec center, which is 60 a year and seems like it has everything i need in the weight room.

the problem isnt so much the $$ as it is the convenience. i've got a 4 y/o i have to drop off at school in the morning and then pickup after work by 6:00-6:30. i'm off work most days by 5 and can get to the rec center by 5:15-5:30. i'll going to renew my membership tonight and start seeing how long it takes me to get in there and get out.

another option is to go over there 3 days a week, do partial workout, go pickup son, go home, finish workout. :dunno:

OR, go to gym at lunch, do partial workout, hit gym again after work, partial workout.

it's a pain in the ass. if i had $$$$, i'd join golds right across from his preschool and put him in the babysitter thing for an hour 3 days a week. but that's another $5 each time, $15 a week, ontop of $50 membership so $170 a month for golds membership. i dont think so.

here's mine from 2 years ago
    [y]ZLl7p24goyE[/y]

at least now i have a bench and can bench out of the squat stand's lowest setting, instead of benching from the floor using those jackstands to put the bar on. :mamoru:

i have to rebuild my bench, though. it got waterlogged over the winter so gotta put new plywood in it. i might just replace all the foam and vinyl with rubber also.

also have 2 4'x4' rubber squares and a 2x4 sheet of plywood that i use as a deadlift platform.

i could also use some safety supports for the squat stands.

AND need to de-rust the bar and squat stands and primer them.

2 30's is same as 1 60 or 1 40 and half another 40 for guy but dont even try it if you're a girl because you need low weights and 200 reps if for girl and dont go to failure if for girl either because you'll get bulky and look like that guy arnold who's governer of texas or something
