god i love going to a southern university. Have had 2 classes so far. We meet at the local LEO range used by clemson and 2 surrounding counties. Last week we shot every type of .22 (pump, lever, bolt, semi, single shot) and a 22-250 single shot rifle. The class is 2 and a half hours, but i stayed after for another hour to finish off the case of federal .22 he had. Today, we shot a 30-30 marlin lever action, and a .270 remington 700. I stayed after again, and since both instructors conceal carry, and one guy brought his brand new XD9, i got to shoot a colt 1911 in 10mm, a kimber .45, and the xd9. I am looking forward to the "military" weapons day - sks's, m1 garands, and last year they had a full auto thompson. I think its pretty badass they offer this class through school

:squint: I'm really getting annoyed with you people in the free states getting to do all the cool shit.

WTF?! UofA never had any badass classes like that. Although I did go on a M16 qual with ROTC.

Sounds like a good time. :)

A community college here offers Precision Rifle Concepts and so forth, but I don't have the requisite cash money to take it.

I know that Chabot College has a firearms course, but that's about it, I think.

Yeah, the liberals haven't built a wall to keep the "psychos" in yet. Don't worry, they will revive Checkpoint Charlie soon enough....

I'm talking Traditions of Hunting right now which covers weaponry eventually and we get to shoot rifles (probably just .22s at the indoor range) and bows. I think there is a Riflery class they offer but it's not every semester so I've never got to take it :hs:

yea they had hunting traditions here, then they got this riflery class, and then shotgun shooting, and they are offering pistol shooting next semester. It is funny to here the instructors talk about CWP's, and apparently a south carolina cwp is valid in NC as well, and vice versa, but not in surrounding states because they want the qualifications of the other states to be equal or greater. They were saying the best thing to do is get one in sc, then get on for NJ, and just keep networking like that until you have every state covered.

Lassen CC has an armorers course. Also, out here at UCM hopefully we will have stuff like that.

my class had a intro to shooting class or somehting like that

they covered ballistics, and it was mainly designed for the Criminal Justice majors on campus. You only got to shoot .22 rifle and pistol on our in-ground range.
