Will be picking up a new hunting/target rifle...ive never owned a sling nor do I know much about them. Any help on this subject would be appreciated...are there different styles, what material should I get, attachment options, etc.

  2. You'd probably be best served by a simple 2 point sling. Depending on the kind of target shooting you're doing, it might be nice to be able to remove the sling, so some quick disconnects would be a good idea.

Best target slings I have used are the ones with the hooks on them.

Those are the M1907 (or that type anyway) sling. Turner makes them, Springfield sells them...there are a lot of companies making and selling them out there, and you can pay anywhere from ~$20 to ~70 for one, depending on maker, quality, and what you're looking to do with it.

Can someone post up pics of slings they have attached to ATI adjustable stocks? I just got two, one for my 7615 and one for my 870. Both have front attachment points (swivels), but no rear attachment point. There appears to be a threaded hole in the ATI stock, but I don't want to screw anything the wrong thread size into it.
