Riding my bicycle to the gym

    I rode the 3 miles to the gym today. Its hilly and I am out of shape, so I was a bit tired when i started working out. My chest day today sucked.

    I want to keep riding to the gym. What can I eat/drink once I get there to get my energy level back up for my workout?

    just keep doing it and you won't need any crazy energy drink or anything.

    Water and you'll be fine.

    Gotta train the body, son.

    that's my biggest issue. i hate wasting any kind of strength before my workouts, but that's because my GPP sucks.

    fuck the energy drink, just do it more than once. You will start to notice it get easier and easier and soon it wont even bother you. Your body will expect the 3 mile ride then lifting hard.

    but i dont want all my workouts to suck while i get in good CV shape...can i eat a piece of fruit or something for a bump in energy?

    maybe a caffiene pill if u want thatextra boost


    or have some creatine before and you will get a slight boost (i noticed it when i took creatine but i got off it now and i feel like my workouts are more)

    So im beginning to think its also a mental thing. I thought i got crazy pumps going but then i stopped taking it and just worked out harder.

    Sure if you want that placebo eat a banana. Otherwise it's all raw and it's all you.

    Conditioning is gonna be your best bet. Your body can get used to anything if you do it long enough. You should eat/drink something carb-dense a lil while before too

    I think it's worth it to have less than stellar work outs for now while your body is adjusting to the 3mile cardio. Might suck in the short run, good in the long run.

    I also second that caffeine suggestion.

    long term, work on your conditioning. go for long hilly bike rides on your way home for instance

    short term, caffeine and/or gatorade

    you just need to get used to it. I was like that when I first started riding. Now I ride about 100 - 150 miles a week
