So it looks like I will be commuting about 20 miles or so to a new job. I do not want to take my car, because of traffic. The dress is business casual. So how do you get away with out have wrinkled slacks, or slacks covered in road grime? I start on Monday.

Bring your weeks cloths on Monday in a case, bring them home Friday. Depending on where you work, you could get away with it.

i find I dont' have a problem with wrinkles.

you can always get overpants. not only will they protect your work pants from road grime but they'll be better if you bin it

i work at a automotive dealership, so i wear slacks, dress shoes, and a polo to work everyday. its summer so i just toss on a lid and cruise there. rinse your hair out once you get there. i have no problems with wrinkles or getting dirty

I'm trying to figure out where you're riding that you'd get covered in road grime...

I ride all the time to work now and haven't noticed any dirt/grime because of it.

Just get a one piece like posted. You shouldn't be riding without gear anyways. Especially after a day of work when you might be tired.

I ride in the Bay Area, and ride up a main freeway in the morning. It is only for 4 hours. I would feel naked without my gear. I am going to think some more about what I want to do.

    Thanks

I can think of 7 "the Bay Area"s off the top of my head. What "the Bay Area" do you mean?

What??!?! It would be faster to ride a bicycle.

you quoted them together so I was only looking in his recent post :o I guess if it's 20 miles in 4 hours it might not be the SF Bay Area, as it doesn't sound like he's lanesplitting...

    +1

jacket + mx shinguards keep you decently protected while still looking reasonable. I don't know that I'd wear it with a suit, but with cargo pants or jeans it works well.

hell, I went down in knee/shin guards + elbow guards ($35 for all of that at cyclegear) + helmet/gloves/boots and the only damage to me was a bruise from my wallet, which saved my right butt cheeck :mamoru:
