RH9...write permissions for desktop?

    i dunno what i did, but i can't write anything to the desktop except as root. How do i enable my user desktop write permissions?

    be sure to log in as the user.. Check your permissions on your home directory. Maybe you changed permissions some how or your home directory is setup wrong...

    Give that a shot first.

    logged in as kellyclan

    /home/kellyclan is owned by user kellyclan group kellyclan and i have no problem writing to that but /home/kellyclan/Desktop is owned by root group root.

    :confused: i'm gonna try and change ownership in root i think.

    Edit: Got it. :cool: That was simple enough :doh:

    chown/chgrp are your friends.

    Don't even need chgrp, just do chown user.group (or is it group.user, they're always the same when I do it :doh: ).
