For instance news about a product. If I rewrite it to is this still frowned upon? I won't be using a content rewriting program, for now anyways.

So can I take another blogs content like say macforums iphone blog, rewrite in my own words and not be placed in the same category as robb?:o

How does this work in the blogging world:wavey:

not to be a dick or anything but this is exactly what is wrong with this forum.

Most in here are looking for a shortcut to a quick buck.

dude, just write it in your own words. sure take pointers from others, but dont just rewrite their stuff. put it in your own words, add some flair (15 or more) to it, and publish it. try and add humor to it. thats what will get people to read your shit instead of theirs.

    :hsugh:

I made this thread because I don't want to be "that guy"

So how do I go about this? Iphone blog, iphone news category. Where am I supposed to get my content? I mean I have to read it somewhere in order to write about it.

I'm not trying to copy others:o

    News is News.

    News spreads via the repost.

I dont give a fuck if someone creates thier own content myself.

I just want to be able to find stuff in 1 location about 1 (or more) subjects i am interested. no one cares who the author is

If you just plagarize it, give up a back link

----I say this as a user. not a designer

To be completely honest, the only people who are going to look down upon rewriting content is the original writer and the elitist webmasters on this forum. For your average user, he or she isn't going to give a flying fuck as to where the news/content originally came from as long as it is accurate information.

I think it is fine so long as you are expanding on the original content, or linking to the original link.

Copying the content and changing a couple words is still stealing in my mind.

right, I'll be totally rewriting it in my own words. I guess the best thing for me to do would be go ahead and write up a few examples and post the link here. :o

I just read an article, close the site and "tell" my users what I've learned. It is the same as watching the news and telling someone what you saw on TV or something. I cite my sources though.

summarize what you read, don't copy and paste their article and then change shit. Read it, (or the source that they are commenting on) and write your own article about it. I would never just straight up steal someone elses writing and edit it.

So basically unless you're the original source of the information in the particular industry, it's copying amirite?

Always source back to wherever you read something. If you make an edit, make sure to throw in an edit summary somewhere in what you are posting.
