Just picked up a sw 627. 2nd time at the range i bought some range ammo and whenever i shot it, there would be fragments that shoot out on both sides of the wheel. It would kind of sting and once it gave my friend, who was shooting it, a little cut. Is this due to not cleaning it or just cheap ammo?

Usually, it is just lead or unburned powder fragments (more common in cheap ammo) and it is normal for them to come out like that. Revolvers tend to get your hands dirty.

If you're actually getting pieces of the brass case, i would stop using that ammo brand. :ugh:
