I currently have a dan wesson 15-2 with the interchangeable barrels in 357. I have the 4" and the 6" barrels for it.

I have the opportunity to buy (cash and carry)
    A ruger gp100 4" blued (Lnib)
A Smith Model 10 in 38spl in excellent condition blued pencil barrel.

I'm thinking the dan will become more rare as the days go on. Is the smith worth buying as a collectors item/investment?

I doubt you'd see a return any better than an index/mutual fund over the long haul but it might be a cool gun to have that you won't lose money on.

Its a 10-5. I have to look at the values. There is also a MINT gp100 that feels like a tank. I wonder if it is worth selling my dan wesson.

forget buying guys for their resale value. Buy guns you plan to shoot. Safe queens are gay.

I wouldn't shoot it. It is a 38 spl pencil barrel.

well, I can own one... just can't buy one unless it's from an officer's personal collection or someone that bought one out of state then moved here.

Can't be purchased through a dealer, only private party in those specific circumstances

    fucking CA laws

Yes... the gun isn't on the list put together to blackmail manufactures into paying annually for every individual model they want to sell in the state.

This one was made in Massachusetts. They are now run by cz. The Dan Wesson that made this is technically out of business.
