Anyone have any good ideas for a conference room table ethernet switch? Maybe with retractable cat5 cables? The xircom netstation was the solution I'm looking for, but its discontinued :rant2:

i would not put the switch in the conference room. just wire jacks in the table and keep the switch in a locked, air conditioned closet. we have some training tables that have jacks that are very accessible and cable management for your wiring but i couldn't suggest where to find them.

Theft really isn't an issue, and I'd like to avoid tearing up a nice table just to hardwire some jacks in if possible.

i was also thinking about fan noise, spilled coffee, appearance and temperature control. you might just want to go wireless.

In the conference room at my job I put a switch under the table with a surge protector on each leg and ran Cat cables under to each chair. Plain and simple.
