It's 50 bpm. That's 20 below the average (70). I feel like I may need to do it another way to be sure. I just counted the pulse on my neck for 30 seconds and doubled it to get my bpm. Should I count for a whole minute? How do you do it?

I count for six seconds then multiply by 10.

Genetics and health play a big role in your RHR. Mine's around 55-65, depending on the days and stress/anxiety. Sometimes a little higher...

I think it has to do with fitness level a lot. Marathon runners can have like 30 bpm. Some chick I talk to told me that was her heartrate and I called BS. She had me feel her neck to check her pulse and she wasn't lying.

Oh she was hot too I should have nailed her but I was dating a bitch :wtc:

if your in good cardio condition the left ventricle of your heart cant circulate more blood with one pump (heart beat). because each pump is stronger it takes less pumps to circulate a certain volume, thus having a lower pulse. If I worked out and my pulse was over 68 resting id be pissed.

For best results you should take a resting HR in the morning as soon as you wakeup.

mine is at 66-70 sitting in a chair playing on my comp. I think thats about normal. I knew I guy in highschool who had it in the low 50's to high 40's and they almost barred him from athletics because it was so low. Trying to lower your RHR is retarded your heart is going to beat at the pace it needs to to keep you going and alive.

When I run a lot, like for cross country it will get in the low 50s but when I haven't done cardio for a while it is a little over 60.

One of the lowest recorded is 28 bpm. This was for Spanish Cyclist Miguel Indurain in the 1990's.

I generally have a high resting heart rate 80-90 BPM. This is mainly due to the fact that I am a robot.
