Is 3 consecutive rest days too long? That's what I do, and everytime I go back to the gym, it seems I feel weak(er). What do you guys think? I was thinking of changing it up like, 4 days on and 1 day off. Instead of 4 days on and 3 days off.

I really don't think 3 days would make a difference. Lots of people take a week off every month or two and are insanely strong...

Is your program so that you have to have 4 consecutive days? and are there certain days of the week you can't work out?

I used 3 days on and 1 day off, worked nicely since I had 96 hours of rest between each time I worked the same muscles and I excercised the whole body in the 3 days I went to the gym

Well, the thing is, the gym is right down the street from where I work and work is a ~15-20 min drive from home. My rest days are usually Fri-Sun. That's why I try to stick to a Mon-Fri schedule and take the weekends off.

It also depends on what you do in the weekends.. if you spend every weekend getting drunk then what you do in the gym in the week is mostly just to counter that :p

You shouldn't lose any strength in the 3 days off, but it might be better to maybe go once in the weekend and instead have a day off in the middle of the week..

Not sure, but it seems logical that your body works better if it's every other day instead of 4 on and 3 off(kinda like eating 5 small meals/day instead of having 2 big meals/day).

Yeah, Im probably going to switch it up a bit and see how my body takes it. I think it also has a lot to do with my diet as well, because at the moment, Im eating everything and anything, college ftl. My only real concern is that I'll probably lose motivation during the weekend because of the long drive to the gym.

    a 2 on 1 off, 3 on 1 off would be optimal.

    i do:

    chest
    back
    arms
    off
    shoulders
    legs
    off
    repeat

granted, its probably higher volume than most here.. but it was @ Pur's suggestion.
