Alright, let me explain this before people start waving stolen flags.

I purchased this phone along with quite a few other iPhones from a friend at a cell phone repair store. I have the original box and accessories with the phone as well. The problem is that I turn the phone on and it tells me that before I can attempt the passkey that I have to wait over 4 million minutes!!! I read where I can bypass the lock by downloading a RAMDisk? for the iPhone and deleting certain files. I was wondering if there were a more noob friendly way of doing this? -Thanks, Kyle

uhhh, can you not put it into DFU mode, and just restore a new firmware to it :dunno:

:werd: In your situation you should be just fine with restoring the factory firmware and wiping the phone. There are other ways around it but they require a bit more work.

No, that doesn't work. It throws me an error everytime I try to restore.

Oh, and I have tried DFU mode. It doesn't work either. Hell, I even tried to create a custom firmware to load on it manually... still nothing.

Well if you can't get into DFU mode then you're fucked. Custom firmware likely won't install unless you can get into DFU mode.

Is the phone jailbroken? I read somewhere that with the new iTunes (8.x), the phone will get an error when restoring from DFU mode if the phone is jailbroken. The workaround was to restore normally, without putting the phone in DFU mode.

Oh, I can get it into DFU mode just fine. It just won't let me restore because of the security pin.
