How is there no thread on this new Vietnam movie with Christian Bale and Steve Zahn?

if there is, just trash this one, my bad

anyways, this has been limited release for awhile and i thought it was wide release today but it's not in my city :madfawk:

has anyone seen it? I tend to love 'Nam movies like Platoon, Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, etc, and this one is getting really good reviews. it's around 89 or 90% at rotten tomatoes last time i checked.

plus christian bale is the fucking man, hopefully this comes to one of the theaters here soon

I'm really hoping they do some showings in my town, it's the only movie in quite awhile I've wanted to see but been unable to because theater's aren't playing it.

    Christian Bale ftfw.

I saw it last night, it was absolutely amazing. So well shot, it felt like I was actually there with him. Bale and Zahn did a good job as their characters. About halfway through the movie, Bale was unrecognizable. He looked like he belonged there, his face didn't stand out at all, which made the story all the more realistic.

Great movie, bale looked like he lost a lot of weight. Seemed pretty scary towards the end.

Rescue Dawn a good film. I just bought the DVD and the special features are worth it if your into film making. Aside from that, I thought Steve Zhan was great. He did a fantastic job at portraying a prisoner of war. You can't complain about Christian Bale either, He was fantastic.

Oh' if you liked Rescue Dawn, check out a movie called "The Machinist" . It's an other movie with christian bale, it's sort of a donnie darko kind of genre. But Bale does a great acting good. Not to mention that he literally dropped 63 pounds for the role. A whopping 121 pounds !!! His goal for the movie was to make it look as if he hasnt slept for a year, and believe me you'll be freaked out when you see him.

Here's the kicker... His film after the machinist was...Batman Begins. Where he put on 220 pounds

dont get me wrong...i normally sackride Bale..but this movie was NOT good. it was decent..but it had bad writing...writing alone killed it. Some of the dialogue was just horrible- "doesn't anybody listen around here; I gotta take a shit" ....

i enjoyed the movie, the only problem with it is that after i read online about the true story they apparently portrayed some of the characters incorrectly.
basically making Bale's character out to be more of a hero and a greater person than the other guys when that wasn't really true. still good, but its ashame that a few of the vets were disgraced over its portrayal of some of the other characters.

finally got around to seeing this.. really disappointing. There's just not much to it. Doesn't have much to say about anything, the adventure wasn't very riveting.. it was just bland

I saw it last week. I thought it was kinda meh. It seemed just a bit too long and drawn out...
