I am interested in buying a 2005 mustang gt 5spd with 2100 miles and was wondering how the resalve values were. I heard they were pretty horrible. How much do you think I can sell a 05 mustang gt for in 5 years with around 70,000 miles?

If you're buying a car like a Mustang for resale value you're an idiot.

    Fucking awful.

I bought my loaded 03 GT in Jan 04 for $18400 with 6k on it
Traded it in in March 06 for $9000 with 50k on it. I attempted a private party sale for 2 months before trading it in, nobody wanted a modified one.

If you're gonna buy one, drive it into the ground and don't think about the money you're losing. Of course driving it into the ground isn't going to take too long, so save your mod money for the down on your next car.

*cue lightspeed shit talking me and my lemon*

Right now the S197s are holding value pretty well, you would probably only save 2-3K over dealership price at this point. I wouldn't expect this value to hold up after the car is available longer, though.

Not completely true. You have to also look to WHERE you live. In the north east I've seen a raise in value in older stangs like mine when the S197 came out.

not really...I've got an 05 Gt, auto, 9k miles, black, mach 500, and about the most I can get is 19000k at local stealers.....maybe i should look elsewhere? I thought that was a little low.

It wasn't yesterday's when I bought it... consider a loaded preimum GT went for 25k in 03-04.... and I got it with 6k on it for 18k... that should have been my first warning.

You're right about where you live.... in CA only Honda and Toyota hold their value.
