Replacing a 3500+ with a dual core processor socket 939...

    Anything I should watch out for? Will it reconize it right away or will I have to update the BIOS? Will I have to reinstall windows? I think the mobo is an a8n SLI. :dunno:

    should just work, shouldn't have to mess with XP except might want to update the CPU driver.

    It may take you some time to adjust to being able to run one core at 100% usage and still being able to surf the web. Brace for impact.

    long gone are the days of re-installing NT when adding an additional processor :o

    Thanks for the help guys. I never just switched out a processor before and because I am doing it on a computer that isn't mine I just wanted to make sure. :bigthumb:

    I am getting the 3500+ :hs:

    My 3000+ is a little too anemic for my 7900GT. Unbalenced upgrades FTL :wtc:
