Replace connector on power supply

    Can I cut off a molex connector and solder on a 4 pin motherboard power connector? They're both 4 pins but is the voltage going to be wrong?

    yes and no.

    yes it is the same voltage (discard the 5 and double the 12)
    no as that is supposed to be the second 12v rail and I believe the current through that connector is also quite high.

    check if they are actually two separate 12v rails in your psu, if they are then I wouldn't join them. otherwise it should be ok :dunno:
