I'm kind of a noob to lifting, and don't know much outside the basics, but I've got a question.

Let's say I'm working Biceps and _____ on a certain day. My preferred exercise for biceps is a seated curl, and I also do some hammer curls.

After I do my first round of those (3x8's of both), and then work my second muscle group of the day, can I repeat those seated/hammer curls again in the same workout, or would I be better served to do other bicep exercises instead? Or just be done with biceps for that day?

    Hope that was clear. Thanks.

i think i understand what you are saying but it doesn't make sense for isolation exercises like curls, where they only work the bicep. unless you are doing a bicep and bicep day there would be no reason to do curls once then the same exercises again.

i think what you are talking about applies more to something like deadlifts where they work the back and legs, so if i had a back and legs day i would not do deadlifts once for back then do them later on in the workout again for legs. so no to answer your question.

on a side note, if you are a noob to lifting, don't focus so much energy on biceps. read the stickies if you haven't yet.

I'm confused, you only do one set of each movement?

do all bicep related exercies in one day/session. this will give that muscle group time to recover in 48 hours so you can repeat. btw switch to 8-12 reps with 4 sets for maximum muscle growth stimulation.

with biceps, as long as you get a burn, don't worry about the variation. with more complex movements, you obviously want to be changing exercises. for example, on chest day, don't do flat bench press for all 3 exercises.

you say that like if he was to do 13 reps and 3 sets, he wouldn't get maximum muscle stimulation.

    i do 3x8-10. should i switch to 4x8?

and is it wrong to do a full body work out 3 days a week instead of splitting it between muscle groups? i just have trouble going to the gym 4-5 days a week because i do a lot of travel and other activities.
