I'm looking at buying this spoiler for my car from a guy on a message board. It's painted Viper GTS blue right now, and I need it painted the same color as my prelude, Electron Pearl Blue (the two colors are very close). He says he can get it repainted for me, but it won't be stripped bare. The body shop is going to sand down the original paint and spray the new paint. Do I run a huge risk of adhesion problems if the wing is repainted this way?

As long as the body shop is competent and properly preps the spoiler you should be fine.

it will most likely stick better than if they went to bare plastic. the original paint has specail additives to help it stick the body shop may or may not have these so they are doing the right thing

hmmm, sounds good. They're not going to strip off the original paint, they're just going to sand it and paint over. Hopefully it works out. You guys put me a little more at ease. Thanks
