I'm renting a D200 and 17-55 f/2.8 lens for a backup shooter to use at an event in a couple weeks. I've never had to rent a body before (I've used rentglass.com for lens rentals and they don't require insurance) and I'm finding that most places require you to provide insurance before they'll rent the camera out to you. How would one go about getting insurance coverage for said rental equipment? :o

Unfortunately, strobist does not have instructions on how to make insurance out of cardboard and tape :hsugh:

never heard of a company requiring insurance to rent from.

you should have insurance on your gear already, and some includes rental.

    I'd suggest:
    Hill and Ushire
    Tom Pickard's Group Insure

They are setup for photographers and will be able to help you the most and there aren't as many chances of you getting screwed as with state farm or the like
